St. Louis Burn & Explosion Injury Attorneys

Goldson Hoekel, LLC represents clients who have suffered St. Louis burn injuries from St. Louis explosions and other St. Louis accidents caused by the negligence, recklessness, or wrongful acts of others.

Our St. Louis Burn Injury & St. Louis Explosion Cases

Burns are serious injuries that can be caused by all types of St. Louis explosions and St. Louis accidents, including St. Louis car or St. Louis truck accidents, defective products accidents, workplace accidents, natural gas explosions, gas station explosions, and electrocutions.  They can be caused by heat, chemicals, electricity, radiation, boiling water or steam, building fires, and flammable liquids and gases.  In one of our cases, our client was injured in a gas explosion that was caused by static electricity.  In another case, kerosene that had been negligently tainted with butane exploded and caused catastrophic injuries to three people.

We have also represented numerous clients who were harmed by defective or mishandled fireworks.  In one case, we represented the families of five subcontractors who were killed when a commercial truck full of fireworks exploded.  Because the victims were killed while at work, the case involved issues of both St. Louis workers’ compensation claims and St. Louis personal injury damages.

Types of St. Louis Burn Injuries

There are four main types of burns:

  • First Degree:  Only the outer layer of skin is damaged.
  • Second Degree:  The outer layer of skin and the layer underneath are damaged.
  • Third Degree: The deepest layer of skin and tissues beneath are damaged or destroyed.
  • Fourth Degree: The damage extends through the skin to the ligaments and muscle.

Burn injuries can also cause additional complications, such as infection or damage to internal organs, which must be considered during treatment.  Serious burns may require extensive hospitalization and surgery for recovery.  In addition, the pain, suffering, scarring and emotional harm caused by an explosion or other burn accident can require ongoing mental and physical therapy.

Recovering Compensation for St. Louis Burn Injuries

If you have been burned due to an explosion or other accident that was caused by another party’s negligence or wrongful act or omission, you may be able to recover monetary compensation for your harm.  If you were injured by a defective or unreasonably dangerous product, you may be able to recover compensation from the product manufacturer even if there was no negligence on their part.  Compensation may include both economic damages, such as medical bills, lost wages, and lost future earning capacity, and non-economic damages that compensate for pain and suffering, emotional distress, and other harm.  If a party’s acts were particularly egregious in causing your harm, you may also be able to recover additional punitive damages.

St. Louis Burn Injury Recovery

If you have suffered burns or other injuries due to an explosion or accident, it is important to contact an experienced personal injury attorney immediately to discuss your case.  Missouri law requires that an injured party bring a claim within a limited amount of time, meaning that you may lose your right to recover damages if you wait too long.  To discuss your case with attorneys who understand the intricate legal and medical issues that arise from burn injuries and explosions, contact Goldson Hoekel, LLC today for a free initial consultation.
